The control lever of my LA402 loader (on B7800 with 25 hours) no longer stays forward in the float position but returns to neutral when released. The bucket seems to float fine in this position and my dealer (200 miles away) says this is normal. Fluid appears full and clean but I am curious if there is a detent assembly on the valve that needs to be cleaned to restore the forward lock. If so, how do I get to it and clean it?

Yes, there is a detent sping in the loader arm valve. It is in the casing at the top of the valve. I would be carefull digging into this if you haven't tried it before. You can get pretty messed up if you aren't carefull. If you go to Prince Hydraulic website, they have cut sheets on the site of spool valves with detent that will give you an idea of what is invloved. It isn't "Normal" that your detent doesn't work. The dealer should make the effort to make it right for you. ....
